Gundam is a Japanese military science fiction franchise
The first series "Mobile Suit Gundam" was created in April 7th, 1979 by Yoshiyuki Tomino which featured giant robots called mobile suits and a majority of the series often deal with themes about war, violence, ideals, human relationship, politics and space battles. The popularity of the series had birthed a franchise of TV series, original video animations, films, manga (Japanese comic books), novels, video games and most importantly to why you're here...…A whole industry of model robot kits known as "Gunpla".

"Gunpla" is a portmanteau of "Gundam Plastic Model" which is the common term for plastic model kits that depicts the various robots in the Gundam universe and they grew in popularity amongst mecha anime and model building aficionados and fans in Japan and neighbouring Asian countries during the 1980s. In the 1990s, Gunpla began spreading to the Western continents such as North America and Europe with them being introduce to it by TV, video and manga. In 2015, Bandai had estimated of 450 million units sold across the globe with approximately 2,000 different Gunpla models.
Now I'm sure you can tell......that I am a absolute fanatic of this franchise....
